Dr. Maria Harsha Wusu is a physician, educator, and advocate whose work is fueled by her commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and antiracism. After completing her residency at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Wusu joined the faculty and served as the inaugural Director of Diversity Programs in the Department of Family Medicine. While at BMC, she created a strategic plan for diversity recruitment that resulted in an increase in the percentage of URM residents from 10% to over 30% in three years. Dr. Wusu also served as the Director of Health Equity in the Department of Family Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine where she led the development of curriculum focused on antiracism and health equity. Dr. Wusu is passionate about working to dismantle racism and other systems of oppression within medicine in pursuit of health equity.
